HDL were established in 2009 as a family business. Over that time we have acquired a reputation for quality, reliability and attention to detail. Specialising in the South West, our developments have ranged from refurbishments of single dwellings, to new build multiple units.

Sam Hyman

Director, founder

Sam has been proprietor of Hyman Developments since 2009 and is coordinator of all company projects. He is a chartered surveyor having qualified at Donaldsons/DTZ where he Specialised in retail development, compulsory purchase and regeneration. He is also the proprietor of Hyman Estates Limited which provides Energy Inspections including commercial and domestic energy performance assessments.

Sam is also Managing Director of VinoVeritas Asia Limited, a Hong Kong based wine company specialising in the wholesale of Italian wine to the trade and private markets. Sam is a founding Board Member of the company and holds a Level 3 (advanced) WSET qualification.

Howard Hyman

Company chairman

Howard provides strategic direction to the business and guidance to the Board to ensure the company continues to grow and achieve its goals of successfully bringing high quality homes to market.

Formerly Howard was Deputy Chairman of Charterhouse Bank and spent twenty-two years with Price Waterhouse, where he was founder and Senior Partner of their global Corporate Finance business.


Jonathan Aziz

Director

Having joined HDL in 2017 after a number of years working in retail, Jonathan is now a company director, and involved in day to day operation of the company. Together with Sam, he provides support in overseeing the development process, with a focus on maintaining the highest build standards, and delivering our developments on time and within budget.

Jonathan has a background in property investment, publishing and marketing. He is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Property Development and Planning, on a part time basis at London South Bank University.

Paul Grove

Consultant

Paul joined the company in 2017. He has been involved in property for over fifty years, most of which has been spent in the Cotswolds of which he has an encyclopedic knowledge. He was a partner in Strutt & Parker where he ran their Cirencester office for ten years and was previously a director of Lane Fox for whom he also ran their Cirencester office. He has been involved in the sale, valuation and acquisition of all types of property, the management of commercial portfolios for both private and trustee clients and has a special interest in property development.
